Background and Purpose: Self-esteem is one of the critical issues in spiritual well-being. Religious beliefs are one of the factors affecting self-esteem. The present study aimed to assess the moderating role of religious beliefs in the relationship between self-esteem and spiritual well-being of students in Sari.
Materials and Methods: The research method was descriptive correlational, and the population of the research included all junior high school students in Sari during the 2022-2023 academic year, among whom 300 students were selected using stratified random sampling. In this research, a set of questionnaires was used, including Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Questionnaire, Pulotsin Wallison's Spiritual Health Questionnaire, and Georges-Religious-Beliefs-Questionnaire.
Results: The results revealed that the components of religious beliefs were significantly correlated with self-esteem and spiritual well-being (P≤0.05). Furthermore, the results of regression analysis demonstrated that religious beliefs were able to moderate the relationship between self-esteem and spiritual well-being.
Conclusion: It can be concluded that enhancing religious beliefs can boost students' self-esteem and spiritual well-being. By encouraging young people to understand their experiences through the lens of religious beliefs and divine principles, they can play a significant role in improving adolescents' self-esteem, mental health, and resilience in facing life's difficulties
