Aromatherapy has been one of the treatment methods used by Iranian physicians in the past. It has been highlighted and its medical benefits have been emphasized in the works of some famous physicians, such as Rhazes and Avicenna. In issue 2 (volume 8, 1399) of the Scientific Journal of Religion and Health, an article entitled "Al-Qanun and the position of aromatherapy in the prevention of diseases or their treatment as a therapeutic method" by Masoumeh Dehghan et al., despite the conducted investigation, there are seemingly some problems on pages 67-78. In this regard, the present study aimed to promote the knowledge of essay writing and prevent distorted conclusions in scientific research.

Background and Purpose: One of the factors influencing the acceptance of autistic children by their mothers is the mothers’ attitude towards God. The present study aimed to investigate the role of mothers’ theological viewpoints and attitudes towards God on accepting the autistic child.
Materials and Methods: This study was qualitative and an unstructured interview was conducted to collect information from nine mothers with autistic children. These mothers were selected by purposive sampling method and sampling continued until reaching saturation. The grounded theory using open, axial, and selective coding was conducted to analyze the data.
Results: The findings showed that different dimensions of attitude towards God played a role in the acceptance of mothers with autistic children. These dimensions included the purposefulness of creation, the Creator of the universe, the creature versus the Creator, acceptance and commitment, the truth of humans, and hope as a motivating force in life. Finally, the paradigm model was proposed based on theological dimensions.
Conclusion: Based on the findings of the study, it can be concluded that the correct attitude towards God leads to the acceptance of autistic children by their mothers.

Background and Purpose: Every year, a large number of patients with chronic renal failure undergo kidney transplantation in the hope of getting rid of dialysis problems and improving their quality of life. Nonetheless, the post-transplant treatment process in these patients is long, complicated, and requires strengthening self-management behaviors to manage the disease process. In our culture, religious beliefs hold a prominent place, affecting people's daily actions and behaviors. The present study aimed to assess the relationship between religious beliefs and self-management behaviors in patients with kidney transplantation.
Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive-correlational study, 117 patients with kidney transplantation referred to the Tehran Kidney Patients Support Association in 2017 were selected by convenience sampling method. Data collection tools included demographic characteristics form, Glock and Stark's questionnaire of religious beliefs, and Kozaka’s self-management behavior scale that were completed by the self-report method. The obtained data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 20) using descriptive statistics (frequency, frequency percentage, mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation test).
Results: Regarding age, 50.4% of participants were within the age range of 31-50 years, and more than half of them had undergone a kidney transplant in the last five years. The mean score of participants’ religious beliefs was obtained at 64.07, and 68% of them had moderate religious beliefs. The mean score of patients' self-management behaviors was 66.87, and most of them (61.5%) had a high level of self-management. In general, there was a statistically significant correlation between religious beliefs and self-management (P= 0.046).
Conclusion: As evidenced by the results of the present study, there is a direct relationship between religious beliefs and self-management behaviors in patients with kidney transplantation. Therefore, it is suggested that the role of religious beliefs be highlighted in the educational programs of these patients, and necessary planning be done to strengthen this factor.

Background and Purpose: Coronavirus pandemic has affected numerous people across the globe. This disease threatens physical health, disrupts daily life, and causes sudden death anxiety that increases gradually by the announcement of Coronavirus deaths. Due to the importance of reducing death anxiety, the present study aimed to predict death anxiety among COVID-19 patients based on the meaning of life, spiritual intelligence, and social cohesion.
Materials and Methods: This descriptive-correlational study was conducted on all COVID-19 patients from five hospitals in Qom in 2020. The sample size was determined at 120 subjects using Fidel and Tabachnik formulas, as well as the available sampling method. The participants were asked to complete the Templar’s Death Anxiety Scale, Steger’s Meaning of Life, King’s Spiritual Intelligence, and Social Cohesion subscale from Keyes’s Social Welfare Questionnaire. The data were analyzed in SPSS24 software using Pearson correlation and multiple regression methods.
Results: As illustrated by the obtained results, the meaning of life, spiritual intelligence, and social cohesion can predict death anxiety among the COVID-19 patients (P<0.01). The results of multiple regression analysis pointed out that the three factors predict 31% of death anxiety among the patients.
Conclusion: It is a necessity to improve meaning in life, spiritual intelligence, and social cohesion as influential factors on the reduction of death anxiety in COVID-19 patients. This key finding in Iran could be useful and necessary in designing therapy programs for patients who have supportive religious and cultural beliefs. Therefore, it is suggested that these factors must be taken into consideration by the medical staff in therapeutic interventions.

Background and Purpose: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has caused numerous psychological problems in society, and mothers of young children are among those at risk for these problems. The present study aimed to assess the prevalence of Covid-19-induced Anxiety in mothers with young children and the role of spiritual well-being and attachment to God in the prediction of this anxiety.
Materials and Methods: The present study was conducted based on a descriptive-correlational design. The statistical population included all mothers with young children in Malayer city. The statistical sample included 132 mothers with young children who were randomly selected from pediatrician's clinics. Corona Disease Anxiety, Spiritual Well-Being, and Attachment to God Scales were used to collect data.
Results: The results demonstrated that 64.39% and 21.22% of mothers with young children had moderate and severe Corona disease anxiety, respectively. The results of the Pierson correlation indicated that spiritual well-being (existential well-being and religious well-being) and attachment to God (God as a haven and positive perception of God) were negatively correlated with Corona disease anxiety in mothers of young children (P<0.05). Based on the results of stepwise regression, spiritual well-being (β=-0.48) and attachment to God (β=-0.17) had a significant negative role in the prediction of Corona disease anxiety.
Conclusion: As evidenced by the results of this study, it is suggested to strengthen the spiritual well-being and attachment to God in the outbreak of COVID-19 and provide psychological strategies based on spirituality and attachment to God to reduce Corona disease anxiety in mothers with young children.

Physically handicapped people, due to their disability, are naturally unable to perform some of their devotional duties. In religious teachings, based on the rule of negation of hardship and the rule of burdensome duty, the religious duties of physically-disabled individuals are legislated in proportion to the physical ability. Awareness of the disabled about this matter provides the ground for their interest and commitment to do their religious duties. Therefore, the present study, with the aim of explaining some individual and social devotional duties of the physically disabled in religious teachings, sought to answer this question with a descriptive-analytical method: " From the point of view of verses and hadiths, how should the disabled perform some individual and social worship duties?". According to the findings of research in verses and hadiths, at least the quality of performing four individual worship duties of the disabled, including Prayer, Hajj, duʿāʾ, and learning religious issues, and the quality of performing their four social worship duties, including Adhan, congregational prayer and congregation imamate, jihād, and martyrdom, has been spoken. The performance of these duties will bring peace of mind to the disabled, and they will be able to resist the onslaught of despair and possible depression in the light of continuous communication with God Almighty in the form of certain acts of worship and will overcome the problems caused by the disabled..

Background and Purpose: Religious orientation exerts positive effects on general health and enhanced quality of nurses' care, bringing a huge improvement in the capability and efficiency of hospitals. The present study aimed to assess the religious orientation of nurses and nursing students..
Materials and Methods: In this study, a query was conducted on Pubmed, Scopus, Magiran, SID, Elmnet, Noor mags, and IranMedex databases for Persian and English articles from 2010-2020 using the keywords of religious orientation, religion, nurse, nursing student, and hospital in Persian and English.
Results: The retrieved articles were descriptive correlation (n=7), descriptive cross-sectional (n=3), descriptive-analytical (n=3), exploratory analytical type (n=1), and structural equation modeling (n=1). Based on the obtained results, internal religious orientation was positively associated with spiritual health, general health, attitudes toward the elderly, nurses' job adjustment, hope, quality of nursing care, cultural sensitivity, moral sensitivity, age, work experience, psychological well-being, and acceptance of death. On the other hand, it was negatively correlated with death obsession, the components of mental health, depression, and death avoidance.
Conclusion: The results of this study highlighted the necessity of devoting attention to religious orientation concerning the performance of nurses and nursing students. Therefore, it is suggested that nursing principals and departments of college hold special training courses for nurses and nursing students to use religious orientation for the improvement of the quality of patient care.

Childbirth is recognized as one of the most important events in a woman's life. In some Islamic sources, there are different instructions to reduce labor pains, one of which is reciting the Quran. Due to the impact of religious values on various aspects of human life, the present study aimed to review the articles related to the influence of the Qur'an on the maternal and fetal outcomes and based on studies conducted in Iran and the world and based on articles published in Scopus, Magiran, SID, Pubmed databases, as well as Google Scholar search engine. After completing the search and evaluation of articles, 12 articles which were conducted in the years 2010-2021 were included in the study. The results of the study pointed out that listening to the Quran is significantly associated with a reduction in pain intensity, length of labor, anxiety, stable blood pressure and maternal heart rate during labor, as well as an improvement in the neonatal health assessment score (Apkar). Considering the effect of the Quran on relieving labor pains and improving maternal psychological conditions during labor, it can be used as one of the effective measures in the promotion of childbirth health.
