Background & Purpose: Religious teachings indicate that adherence to prayer is the best way to provide mental health and some researches confirm the fact .This study investigated the relationship of adherence to prayer and mental health at Iran Khodro Co employees in west of Tehran. Materials and Methods: In this study, 205 people at Iran Khodro Co. employees in west of Tehran in 2009 were evaluated. The instruments were a general information questionnaire, adherence to prayer researcher-made questionnaire and a general health questionnaire. For evaluation and data analysis, statistical descriptive and inferential methods were used. Results: The results showed that there is negative correlation between the adherence to prayer and mental health. The significance of this hypothesis is proved at the level of less than p<0.001 and r=-0.367 between adherence to prayer with the somatic symptoms (p<0.005 and r=-0.338) between adherence to prayer and anxiety and insomnia (p<0.001 and r=-0.311) between adherence to prayer and social dysfunction (p<0.001 and r=-0.287) and between adherence to prayer and depression (p<0.001 and r=-0.340) was a significant relationship. The results also showed that the rate and amount of adherence to prayer and mental health is equal between married and singles. Education was not effective to the adherence to prayer while it was effective on mental health. The results also showed that years of service has no effect to adherence of prayer and mental health. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study it is concluded that the adherence to prayer can predict the extent of mental health. So custodians of culture can improve psychological health by extending the religious belief and attendance to prayer in the studied social group and other similar society.

Then 30 people, who got the lowest score in test, were selected. They were divided randomly into two experimental and control groups. Ten sessions of religious coping strategies were held for the experimental group. Then, a post-test was given. Analysis of covariance was used to analyze the test data. Results: Results showed that the experimental group and the control group are significantly different in terms of emotional intelligence test and its subscales. The highest increase is obtained in stress management component with effectiveness of 0.94,adaptability of 0.91, intrapersonal and interpersonal of 0.90 and general mood with effectiveness at 0.74. Population control policies implemented in developing countries are encouraged by developed countries. Now after the emergence of its dangerous consequences and damages, especially in the various aspects of health, officials and experts have been forced to review and do serious research and discussion on this issue. Since Islam in particular addresses the physical and spiritual health of all people therefore, in the present study, the population decrease and its effect on the health of individual and family from the perspective of Islam was studied. This review study was performed by collecting the data and describes them with reference to the religious and scientific literature and Internet search engines, also data sources through an Internet search on reputable sites are evaluated on the basis of appropriate keywords. Then, the obtained data has been classified and analyzed. In religious literature, decrease of population has been criticized and population increase (in terms of qualitative aspects) is encouraged. Studies have also shown that population control policies in developed countries have consequences on the health of individuals and families. In Iran according to the experts, the decrease in population has dimensions that are more critical. Families with few members and the children brought up in them are subject to serious injuries in various aspects of physical, psychological, moral and social. Depopulation policies not only affect individual and community health but also the countries implementing policy will face big security, economic, social, and religious problems. Thus, if the appropriate and well timed action is not performed, these countries will face irreparable problems in the future.
