Abstract:   (30 Views)
Background and Objectives: Information processing speed is a perceptual and cognitive ability that affects high-level cognitive skills in real-world settings, such as school, university, and job performance. This study aimed to compare information-processing speed, working memory, and emotion regulation in Quran memorizers and non-Quran memorizers among girls aged 16 and older in Zanjan, Iran.
Materials and Methods: The research design is descriptive and causal-comparative. The sampling method was convenience sampling. The study included a sample of 160 girls aged 16 years. Among them, 80 had memorized 30 parts of the Quran, while the other 80 were non-Quran memorizers. SPSS (version 26) was used for analysis, and the Gross and John Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, Wechsler Information Processing Speed Questionnaire, and Pickering and Susan Gadrecole Questionnaire were used to collect data.
Results: Quran memorizers exhibited faster information processing, better working memory, and improved emotion regulation.
Conclusion: Therefore, it is concluded that Quranic activities can effectively enhance information processing speed, working memory, and emotion regulation. Therefore, the motivation derived from religious beliefs can enhance one's sense of purpose and perseverance at work, which, in turn, leads to empowerment and success in mental and emotional aspects.
